With centuries of history and tradition behind it, this dinghy is specially made with an eye on recreating the past while using the best materials available today. We believe in the traditions of the boat makers of old, and we apply those to all of our watercraft so that we can offer you an experience like no other.
We use the traditional plank-on-frame method to build our Whitehall dinghy, hand-joined strips of cedar come together. This approach ensures a strong and reliable structure while showcasing the wood's natural beauty in elegant designs.
The transom on this Whitehall Dinghy is designed distinctively with a cut-out to fit a standard 19-inch shaft outboard motor. We also have a regular version of transom available under SKU number K012.

About Captain Heritage™
Built On Tradition. Guided by Experience.
Captain Heritage was founded on a simple belief:
Some things deserve to be made deliberately, carefully, and with respect for the sea
Long before mass production and disposable goods, mariners trusted what they could feel beneath their hands-solid timber, balanced hulls, well-forged fittings, and tools built to withstand weather, salt, and time. Every vessel carried more than crew or cargo; it carried craftsmanship, responsibility, and pride.
Captain Heritage exists to honor that enduring tradition.
Rooted in Seamanship
The title Captain represents more than rank. It signifies leadership earned through experience, calm judgment under pressure, and accountability when conditions are uncertain. A captain is entrusted not only with a vessel, but with lives, history, and legacy.
At Captain Heritage, this spirit of seamanship guides everything we create.
Preserving the Craft
Heritage speaks to what is passed down-and worth protecting.
Our work is shaped by the same principles that guided master boatbuilders for generations:
Hand-selected woods
Traditional construction techniques
* Designs inspired by classic working boats and timeless nautical forms
* Careful attention to proportion, balance, and detail
* Each piece reflects a deliberate approach: measure twice, build once, and never compromise where it matters.
* Made for Those Who Respect the Sea.
Captain Heritage is for those who value authenticity over trends, substance over shortcuts, and objects that reveal their story the moment they are touched. Whether displayed on land or used on the water, every creation is meant to feel purposeful, enduring, and honest.
These are pieces built to be appreciated-not rushed, replaced, or forgotten.
Our Philosophy:
* Timeless, not trendy
* Craftsmanship before scale
* Function informs beauty
* Respect for tradition, with confidence in the future
Captain Heritage is not about nostalgia alone. It is about carrying forward the values that made maritime craftsmanship legendary-and ensuring they remain alive for the next generation.
Captain Heritage - Leadership rooted in tradition. Built with respect for the sea.
